This just in – one of the most potent sprint car combinations in all of the country for 2011, Danny “The Hammer” Martin Jr. and the Shaw Motorsports team have parted ways.

“I would like to thank Doug Shaw for the opportunity to drive the #24 as we were obviously quite successful together,” said Martin. “But I did go over to the shop today and pull my seat, gauges and all of my other equipment from the car, so we have parted ways.”

Anyone that would like to hire the state’s most dominant driver to drive their sprint car can contact him through his website right here.

We also contacted Doug Shaw of Shaw Racing Products for his input and he wishes Danny nothing but the best of luck and thanked him for the great year they have had together, but the team is scaling back their racing at the moment and reevaluating their plans for next year.

If you’d like to get yourself a Shaw chassis like the one Danny has been piloting, or the one Collin Cabre is now piloting on dirt, you can contact Shaw Racing Products at 941.485.7808.

Two very nice individuals have decided to part ways, and that’s just the way racing goes sometimes.

We here at FloridaSprintCarFans.com would like to thank both Doug Shaw and Danny “The Hammer” Martin Jr. for putting on one whale of a display of sprint car excellence this year in Florida, the likes of which have not been seen around here, or anywhere, for quite some time.

As always, much love to Mr. Winger for the hookup on the awesome Top Gun Sprint Series photos below from Bubba Raceway Park Saturday night. Feel free to visit his website and give him your hard earned money. Race photographers are a critical part of our sport, so kindly support them when you can.

In his heat race, Gene Lasker got all out of shape on the start, then sailed it down into Turn One to say hello to his good friend Tim George...

Getting all four wheels off the ground in a sprint car can only lead to bad things...

Like tearing the fence down. Gene Lasker then threw the parts he shed off his sprint car into the stands for the fans, which was fairly entertaining for all involved.

Our Safety Guru Scotty Adema reacquainted himself with the dirt Saturday night, rolling out in his beautiful new Spike chassis. Here he is with Robbie Smith and Danny Martin Jr. to his outside.

Matt Kurtz took every chance given to him to try and wrestle the lead away from Tyler Godwin.

Our Factory Driver Flyin' Ryan Partin mixes it up with Terry Witherspoon.

Brandon Grubaugh gets it pointed the wrong way with Tony Agin.

Tyler Godwin was leading the race in the very high line, with Danny Martin Jr. right on his tail, when a lapped car moved up on him, triggering this very hard wreck.

Tyler Godwin's bad wreck continues...

The destroyed race car of Tyler Godwin finally comes to a rest. Tyler is sore today, but otherwise alright.

Robbie Smith tried to slide Matt Kurtz for second, but Kurtz held the high line and kept the position.

After Godwin's wreck, Danny Martin Jr. held off the charge of Matt Kurtz for the win.
