Haulin' Collin and Lightning Lou Cabre were our featured guests on our new podcast.

It was recorded almost three weeks ago…we had a big technical failure…your webmaster had to edit together over 600 individual audio files…but it’s done!

So what will you learn in this, our latest podcast?

  • How Collin Cabre got his start in racing.
  • How Collin’s dad Lou got his start in professional wrestling.
  • What Collin’s long-term racing goals are.
  • How many different names Lou competed under in the ring.
  • Collin’s plans for racing on dirt.
  • Lou’s travels to Japan for wrestling.
  • Collin’s plans for racing in Indiana.
  • How Lou became one of the Doink the Clowns.
  • How we ended up at a new pub where drunk females would just insert themselves into the podcast, particularly around the 90 minute mark.

Overall, you’ll learn a lot about the business of professional wrestling in the 80s and 90s and also a lot about young Collin’s plans in sprint car racing, on all surfaces. You’ll also learn that our webmaster knows way too much about professional wrestling.

And once again, our podcast is quite long, but hey, there are no sprint car races this weekend, so what else do you have to do?

Why not save the podcast to your MP3 player of choice or burn to a CD and listen as you head out for some fireworks displays this weekend? Or if you have almost two hours to kill, by all means sit at your computer and be enthralled.

OTG Tyler Godwin is our special guest on this marathon 2.5 hour podcast.

We keep saying we’ll do shorter podcasts, yet they get longer and longer…but this one is really good!

We holed up at the Cricketer’s Arms in Orlando and had a rousing roundtable discussion consisting of our Editor at Speed “The Hot Foot” Brian Penrose, your webmaster Todd Michaels and our featured guest, dirt sprint car driver OTG Tyler Godwin.

In this marathon podcast, we’ll cover the following:

  • The winners of our Annual JBT Awards.
  • What is Tyler Godwin going to school for.
  • What does OTG stand for anyway?
  • Some of Tyler’s favorite racing memories and what lies ahead.
  • “Dating Advice with Tyler Godwin” as he answers e-mails of the lovelorn.
  • A look ahead at SpeedWeeks.

If you have a short attention span, we assure you, hang in there so you can make it to the 1:50 mark where things really take off and are probably not safe listening for those under the age of 18, so you’ve been warned.

Why not save the podcast to your MP3 player of choice or burn to a CD and listen as you head to the tracks this weekend? Or if you have 2.5 hours to kill, by all means sit at your computer and be enthralled.

It’s true.

The stars aligned and we, the humble, the few, the somewhat proud staffers of FloridaSprintCarFans.com talked the one and only Dave Steele into sitting down with us for our latest podcast.

We’re fairly confident this is quite possibly the longest Dave Steele interview EVER clocking in at almost two hours. Rest assured we took to heart the rare opportunity given us to interview “The Man of Steele” and wasted no time in asking him about:

  • How he got his start in open wheel racing.
  • How he ended up leaving Florida and hitting the USAC trail.
  • What his favorite USAC win was.
  • The night he left the Steve Lewis ride after finding another driver getting strapped into his car.
  • His favorite tracks during the USAC years.
  • His take on his dirt sprint car outings.
  • The time he spent at Panther Racing and what it was like to drive around Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
  • Where did it all go wrong in NA$CAR.
  • The current state of affairs in Florida.
  • And much, much more!

A goodly portion of the two hours was spent on the USAC years because, well, he won damn near everything in sight and we wanted to hear all about that very prolific time of his career.

We hope you enjoy this, our longest and most serious podcast yet, without a doubt the highpoint of this website’s short existence, our interview with the one and only Dave Steele.

And if you want to download it to save to your MP3 player of choice or burn to a CD to listen in the car on your way to the races, by all means do a right click here and do “save as.” Otherwise hit the play button and enjoy!
