Our much anticipated EOTY podcast is here!

Rejoice as our resident podcast trio (Webmaster, Editor at Speed, Factory Driver) sum up the year in elegant style, with such sonic gems as:

* Word association for all major sprint car disciplines.

* Discussion of our hot lap contest on Ryan’s XBox 360, complete  with racing seat, hydraulic pedals, steering wheel with paddle shifters and flat screen mounted at the front of the unit.

* The Mailbag, courtesy of our Editor at Speed.

* The F1 Minute with Ryan and Todd, otherwise known as “the bathroom break” for most of you.

* Our final thoughts on the year.

Those of you concerned that we didn’t break the 60 minute mark on our last podcast can worry no more, as this one clocks in at well over an hour, possibly even breaking the 90 minute mark.

He's the man they call Gilby and he's the 2011 TBARA champion.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived and our podcast with the 2011 TBARA champion Johnny Gilbertson is ready for your listening pleasure.

Be captivated as Johnny tells us:

  • How he got his start in sprint car racing.
  • What it was like to race against Christi Passmore in the USCS.
  • What it was like trying to qualify for the Little 500 in Indiana.
  • At what point it dawned on him that he could indeed win the TBARA championship.
  • Why the dirt sprint car motors are getting out of hand around here.

A damn fine interview if there ever was one, and the only one with Gilby celebrating his TBARA championship to the best of our knowledge, be sure to pass the time this weekend with this sonic candy.

Kids, make yourself available for a solid 2+ hours of sprint car podcast listening goodness because you are in for a real treat this time out.

Our featured guest for the July podcast is none other than Mike Partin. Some of you late to the sprint car racing game may only know Mike as the head wrench on the Flying 14 driven to the 2009 Top Gun Sprint Series championship by our Factory Driver Flyin’ Ryan Partin, but Mike has been around this game of sprint car racing for a long time.

We would also like to say that this podcast also marks a return to our old stomping grounds of the Hooters in Sanford (practically Lake Mary/Heathrow, but we digress) and that our audio quality is excellent as we were sitting outside all by our lonesome on the deck, save for our lovely waitress Laura, who makes a guest appearance on the podcast as well.

Things you will learn in this podcast:

  • How did Mike get his start in midget racing out in Texas?
  • How did Mike get to graduating to full blown sprint cars?
  • How did Mike get to running flat track motorcycles, with Harley Davidson factory support?
  • How did Mike get to running with the World of Outlaws?
  • What is Mike’s favorite track here in Florida?
  • What’s wrong with the rules package for dirt sprint cars here in Florida?
  • Has Mike been known to whoop a man that wronged him on the race track?
  • What should today’s track promoters be doing to put more butts in the stands for sprint car races?
  • Listen as Ryan tells how his testicles got to glowing red hot the night he almost stole the win from Danny “The Hammer” Martin Jr. at Volusia Speedway Park.

Once again thanks go to Hoseheads.com for stepping up to sponsor our podcasts this year so we can do them on a more regular basis. Please visit Hoseheads.com on a regular basis.

This is a solid two hours from a master story teller and we think you will definitely enjoy this epic podcast.
