Our Factory Driver Ryan Partin was in the house at East Bay for a test and tune session.

Over at East Bay, the cast of regular rowdies resurfaced for a night of racing and it was almost a 100% FSCF.com reunion as our Editor at Speed “The Hot Foot” Brian Penrose and Josh “I’m Still on Probation” Wichers showed up to work on our Factory Driver Ryan Partin’s car as he tested some new stuff out before heading back out on the Top Gun Sprint Series trail. Ye Olde Webmaster’s run of bad luck continued (wife wrecked her car) and had to sit this one out.

But nonetheless, a fine field of cars showed up and when it was all said and done Kurt Taylor took home the win, followed by Danny Jones, Tim George, Keith “I’m No One’s” Butler and Rocky Sullivan.

We’ll hopefully have a race report from one of our staff, and Gary “Walk Quietly But Carry A Big” Johnson sent along some photos we’re saving for the moment.

Up at the OSCA/FSCA race once again it was Titanium Tommy Denton taking home the win in Georgia, followed across the stripe by Shawn Murray and Mark “Ruelz Bitches!” Ruel, Jr. The OSCA/FSCA traveling circus heads on over to Alabama tonight.

Down at Punta Gorda Speedway, the FMARA once again had a double digit turnout as Ted Durfee once again took home the checkers. Ted was followed across the stripe by Mike Belusar and Geoff Styner. Former two-time series Champion Ernie Teed Jr. made his first appearance of the year replacing the injured Jack Duffy in the #1, but mechanical problems made his night a short one.

And now, we would like to present the newly married TBARA driver Larry Brazil, Jr. who married his lovely bride Jackie down in the Florida Keys this weekend. Our staff wishes to congratulate the happy couple and wishes them nothing but the best of luck and good fortune in the years to come.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brazil Jr.

Now, when you’re friends with Hustlin’ Steve Heisler, like Larry is, things like this tend to happen…

When you invite Steve Heisler to your party, he sends us photos like this one.

If you ever wondered to yourself, “I’ve seen Larry Brazil Jr. stand in victory lane a few times, but I wonder what he looks like hungover in the Florida Keys,” you can wonder no more. And in our defense, Hustlin’ Steve Heisler is completely to blame for this as he insisted we post this photo of the groom.

And for you Amanda Ferguson fans, she was credited with a 31st place finish at the Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway. Jeff Choquette was the winner, followed by Wayne Anderson.

The other day someone asked why we still cover the FSCA (or as we call it “OSCA”) sprint series seeing how they don’t really race in Florida any more. For example, this weekend they are in Georgia and Alabama of all places.

We think the picture to the left sums it up nicely.

But by and large, these are Florida drivers in a Florida series and we’re sure when Putnam County opens back up, we’ll most likely see the OSCA boys and Ashlyn there.

But this is a holiday weekend and if you’re the traveling kind, why not? The OSCA Georgia shows at Alabany, GA (Saturday) have that $15/carload admission deal that simply can’t be beat. Then they head over to Cottonwood, AL (?) Sunday night to wrap up their two night stand in states that do not start with an F and end in A.

And one of our favorites Mark “Ruelz Bitches!” Ruel Jr. seems to be hell bent on knocking Titanium Tommy Denton off his FSCA perch, so what more could you ask for.

So you don’t want to leave the state, eh?

That’s cool, head on over to East Bay. It’s been a while since the sprint cars were at the Clay By The Bay, so we’re sure everyone will be chomping at the bit. Even our very own Factory Driver Flyin’ Ryan Partin will be in attendance to work on a few things before he heads back out on the Top Gun Sprint Series championship trail.

Down the road a spell, if you’re the Punta Gorda kind, the TQs are back in action. Last race out saw an increase in car count but also an accident that sidelined a few people, including legendary Jack Duffy who ended up with a concussion and a broken left hand last time out.

So you’re saying, “hey dammit, I live in Central Florida proper and don’t want to drive very far, give me something to do Verizon Guy.” Well, we would never in good faith recommend a super late model show on a night when sprint cars are running somewhere, but sprint car driver (sorry, we’re calling you that no matter what) and teenage sensation Amanda Ferguson will be racing in the Clyde Hart Memorial Saturday night at New Smyrna Speedway. This is a big race (37 entries already) and a big step for young Amanda. We had a staff discussion about this earlier this week that went like this:

Todd: I don’t know about this, the Clyde Hart Memorial is a cut throat race with guys like Wayne Anderson and Jeff Scofield that don’t suffer fools kindly.

Brian: That’s true, but Amanda’s no fool. She’s raced against Gene Lasker on dirt. And beat him I might add.

Todd: Good point. This might make for good entertainment.

Brian: And they have Yuengling.

So there’s your weekend in a nutshell. Wherever you decide to go, drive safely with it being the holiday weekend and all.

If you didn’t catch the Knoxville Nationals on SPEED recently, check out this footage from a spectator.

Perhaps you’re thinking to yourself, “ah, to hell with that racing stuff, I’m going bowling!” Just keep in mind, you’ll never bowl as well as Curt Henning.

Something to keep in mind if you get into an incident with Wayne Anderson at the Clyde Hart Memorial this weekend.
