Sorry for the delay, but things broke on the website again and I had to update things and they still may look a little screwy for a while. Anyway…

This weekend the Top Gun Sprint Series rolls back into Ocala for another wingless show at Bubba Raceway Park. The championship battle is heating up as “The Peruvian Outlaw” Mark Ruel Jr. leads with 422 points, Danny “The Hammer” Martin Jr. has 418, our very own Factory Driver Flyin’ Ryan Partin has 416, and last race’s winner “The Jacksonville Jet” Matt Kurtz has 412. The action last time out was hot and heavy and things should be no different this time.

If pavement is more your speed, the TBARA pulls into Desoto Speedway for another visit. Defending champ Johnny Gilbertson should be in theory back on top of the points battle for this weekend’s action. Hopefully car count will increase from last time they were at Desoto, but next week is Little 500 and King of the Wings time up in Indiana and quite a few Florida drivers are packing up and heading on up this weekend.

In mini sprint action, the Florida Mini Sprint Association rolls into Georgia starting tonight for a full slate of weekend action. Tonight (Friday) the FMSA guys and Rhea Lynn roll into Oglethorpe Speedway Park once again and then on Saturday night they roll into Screven Motor Speedway. Last time out at North Florida Speedway 13-year old upstart Nicholas Snyder bagged his first FMSA win and at this point in the season trying to pick a winner at an FMSA race is like trying to pick between Makers Mark, Bulleit or Buffalo Trace – they’re all good and they all get the job done.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the FMARA website, but it does appear that the TQs are in action this weekend at Punta Gorda Speedway.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – get out and support your sprint car racing and your tracks. It looks like Orlando Speed World may be closed the remainder of the year, save crash and bang shows, Volusia Speedway Park hasn’t answered the bell, Putnam County has struggled to open…things are looking rough all over Central Florida at the moment. Pick one of the above shows and present yourself and say, “I’m here to see the sprint cars,” when you pay your admission.

And now for some really, really great video from East Bay last time out, we give you super video goodness from Chase Cabre, he the brother of Haulin’ Collin and son of Lighting Lou Perez.

Enjoy.

We shall.

Our man about town, international playboy Gary “Walk Quietly But Carry A Big” Johnson roamed the pits at The Clay By The Bay Saturday night, using photographic equipment to take pictures of sprint cars with big old wings on the top, just to please you, the adoring sprint car public.

Enjoy.
