Welcome to a new feature on FloridaSprintCarFans.com – 10 Questions! 10 Questions is nothing more than our attempt to get to know our favorite sprint car drivers better. Some questions are serious racing questions, some questions not so much. Just trying to get to know our heroes a little bit better.

Born in York, PA Bryn Gohn has been surrounded by racing since birth. His father, Daryl Gohn was killed racing at Williams Grove speedway when Bryn was only two years old. At the age of 15 Bryn became mechanic to his stepfather Kenny Adams for the Goodson Farms 360 Sprint Car team. In 2005 Bryn got behind the wheel of a sprint car and has raced in just about every major organization in the Southeast – USCS, ASCS, USAC, URC, you name it. In 2009, Bryn has taken his stuff up to arguably the toughest region in the country for sprint car racing – Central Pennsylvania.

Bryn was kind enough to take some time out of his schedule to play our little game and if you weren’t a Bryn Gohn fan before, you surely will be after reading this.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present – Bryn Gohn!

1.  So how is Pennsylvania treating you? Pennsylvania has been treating me great! Since I made the announcement I was coming to PA, everyone was very generous and offered me any kind of help they could, people I barely know were offering me a place to stay and stuff like that. Since I got to PA, I’ve done nothing but have an awesome time. I’m surrounded by great supportive people and I’ve just been having a blast! The one big downside to PA has been the rain so far this season, we’ve had 5 rain outs already I think with the URC.

2.  How did it feel pacing the field this past weekend at Lincoln Speedway?  Pacing the field at my dad’s memorial race was really neat, but I wish I would of been in the race. I took my 360 to the race because we had the weekend off and nothing to lose. We ended up passing some 410s in the B main when the track was really slick, but we didn’t make the show. I really wish I would have had a 410 in the car and a REAL shot and racing the race. But pacing the field was certainly a good feeling!

3.  What has been the biggest difference so far driving in Pennsylvania Posse country? The biggest difference is I haven’t been running up front at all yet! And it’s driving me insane. The best I’ve finished since coming up here was a 9th place from dead last at Bridgeport. But every race there 35-40 race cars for the URC shows and all of the tracks I have zero experience racing at, except for Williams Grove, which I’ve raced twice in previous years. The level of competition up here is certainly alot higher, which is why everyone says if you want to become the best of the best you come here! I would like to think right now I’m certainly paying my dues and getting schooled right now, but hopefully here soon we’ll get the hang of these race tracks and we’ll start showing them how Florida boys do it!

4. That’s a cool name you’ve got there. When you’re being introduced, do they ever say things like, “Bryn Gohn to the front tonight!” or “Bryn Gohn be in Victory Lane tonight!” or “Bryn Gohn to the concession stand – you need something to drink?” Yea, ha ha, they have made jokes about Bryn “Gone”, when talking about me. They can say whatever they want about me as long as its good things!!! Ha ha.

5.  What did you think the first time you pulled out on to the track for hot laps at Williams Grove? “Oh my god! Im finally getting to race here! I NEED to race here every weekend!! This place is heaven!” I’m obsessed with that race track and I wish I could race there on a weekly basis. One of my all time goals is to win there, that would mean the world to me to be able to win a feature at Williams Grove!

6.  Have you tried some birch beer yet? No, I have not. The race shop I’m currently working out of and hanging out at, they are big Bud Light guys and on some nights the Crown Royal and Captain Morgan get broken out and then all the fun starts.

7.  Will we see you racing back here in Florida any time soon? I dont know about soon, but I’m sure I will be back in Florida racing sooner or later! The season ends early up here and if we still have money we’re most likely going to still be chasing races anywhere we can find them!

8.  Spent any time with the Amish yet? They make the best apple butter. Actually I’ve been kicking it with the Amish on a regular basis! No, I’m just kidding. I have yet to hang out with them because I’m pretty into my technologies and they are most certainly not! So we wouldn’t get along, plus their women dont shave and that’s not very attractive if you ask me. Just kidding.

9.  Is the plan to stick with the 360 and try to pick up a 410 at some point? My plan is to race as much as possible. Right now I’m driving my own car on an extremely limited budget, but we keep getting a little help here and there from people to keep on going racing. But my ultimate goal is to be in a 410. I’ve been going to watch the Grove on Friday nights when we dont have a race, and Lincoln on Saturday when we’re not racing, and I’m literally foaming at the mouth to join those ranks! It drives me crazy sitting in the stands watching those cars go around the race track wishing I was sitting in one!

10.  Who has the best mushroom farm? Well, since I’m too picky of an eater to even know anything about mushrooms, I wouldn’t have the slightest clue. But if I had to just take a guess, I’m going to go ahead and say it is a safe bet to put my money on C n B Mushroom Farms in Avondale!

So there you have it, the adventures of Bryn Gohn in Pennsylvania Posse country. We’ll be sure to check in with Bryn sporadically and see how he’s holding up. Clearly Bryn could use some more financial help to get out there and run more races. If you or someone you know would like to help Bryn out, Bryn can be contacted anytime by phone at (321)-427-6902 or by email at Bryn4B@yahoo.com .
