He’s a long time student of sprint car racing in Florida and can often be seen wandering the pits of sprint car races in the greater Tampa area, camera in hand. The pit walk photos you see all over this site, the vast majority are his handiwork, he is the one and only Gary “Walk Quietly But Carry a Big” Johnson.

FIRST SPRINT CAR EXPERIENCE: That would be Sunshine Speedway and Tampa fairgrounds in the 70s.

HOW I GOT INVOLVED IN SPRINT CAR RACING: That would be hanging around Sunshine Speedway and the Fairgrounds.

WHAT I DO IN MY FREE TIME: I just bought a 1981 El Camino for a low, low price recently and I work on it a little bit to get it restored.
