Gilby Butler Productions – a history.
It all got started when Shane Butler and Johnny Gilbertson finally got their big breaks and were up for the leads in the 1988 cult classic film Dead Heat. Sadly the lead roles went to Joe Piscopo and Treat Williams, but the rest, as they say, is history.
It is a little known fact that before they were sprint car stars, Johnny Gilbertson and Shane Butler had budding film careers and were the “go to guys” for buddy cop films.
Let’s stroll down memory lane and take a look back at their body of work and also failed recent comeback attempts.
