TBARA Announces Safety-Kleen Systems as Series Title Sponsor for 2012 Racing Season.
TBARA President Buff Fritz announced today that the club has reached agreement with officials at Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. to be the presenting series sponsor for the 2012 race season. The series will now be known as the Safety-Kleen Systems TBARA Sprint Car Series.
“We are very excited to reach this agreement with Safety-Kleen Systems and look forward to helping market Safety-Kleen’s environmentally responsible cleaning solutions to race fans and racers alike all over the southeastern United States,” said Fritz. “We at the TBARA feel that our passion for providing the best in pavement sprint car racing in the southeast and Safety-Kleen’s passion for keeping workplaces safe by keeping the environment clean is a good fit. Safety-Kleen has partnered with some of the finest teams and series in motorsports so we are honored to have them as a marketing partner for the 2012 race season.”
As one of the few areas in the country that has winged sprint car racing on pavement, when the TBARA competes at short tracks all over the southeastern United States, they generally re-write the track record books and pack the stands.
“We are very excited about partnering with the TBARA for the 2012 race season,” added Drew Patey, Director of Safety-Kleen Motorsports. “The TBARA has an almost 40-year tradition of sprint car excellence and we at Safety-Kleen have a track record of excellence in developing practical green processes for business for over fifty years. We feel this is a good fit and look forward to working together for years to come.”
The Safety-Kleen Systems TBARA Sprint Car Series has a 15 race schedule for 2012, covering Georgia and Florida. The Safety-Kleen Systems TBARA Sprint Car Series kicks off their season during SpeedWeeks at New Smyrna Speedway on February 19. Way to go Buff! That is what that series has been lacking all along. I don’t think Safety Kleen will be disappointed with the quality of the cars or the races that the TBARA provide.

While I’m not privy to all of the particulars of the deal, and if anyone really wants the rundown of the sponsorship I would encourage you to contact Buff Fritz, I will say that it is progress for the TBARA to have a series sponsor at all, especially one of the magnitude of Safety-Kleen. It’s also a lot easier to now approach other companies and say, “we’ve got Safety-Kleen as our series sponsor, let me tell you about some other opportunities we have…”
Now as a marketing professional, I will tell everyone (owners, drivers, etc.) most of your sponsorship deals start out as free or deeply discounted product for the first year. Companies involved in motorsports will typically put you on a product deal the first year to see if you can represent the company and do everything you say you are going to do. If you do that and go above and beyond, then in year two you can start looking at money.
When you are dealing with motorsports marketing, you have to walk before you can run.
Yes Todd like everything weather it’s women or marketing for sponsorship you have prove yourself before you get to the finer things !!! LMAO But you are rite about that and Buff is working his ass off to take chicken s@@t and turn it into chicken salad…
