How did Team Florida do this past weekend while traveling abroad?

By

The good…

Troy DeCaire doesn't need your fancy new sprint cars to get the job done.

Travelin’ Troy DeCaire was out in the Midwest this past weekend, taking in some Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series (MSRXSS) and Auto Value Sprint Series (AVSS) action. Troy was doing well at the MSRXSS race, but the race went a million laps under caution and Troy and most of the field ran out of fuel. Unfortunately Troy was fourth at the time. But Troy made up for his misfortune the next night at the AVSS race up in Michigan where he qualified Old Yeller up there 5th and finished second. To quote Troy about Old Yeller, “Fast ain’t always pretty…”

Troy is now fifth in the MSRXSS points and is leading the AVSS points.

Then the not so good…

His Holiness Dave Steele was back in USAC competition at Iowa Speedway.

Dave Steele returned to the RE Technologies/Hemelgarn Racing Silver Crown entry at Iowa Speedway and we all had high hopes as Mr. Steele has been known to blister the joint. Sadly it wasn’t to be and Steele qualified 12th and came home 11th. Though it should be pointed out that 20+ Silver Crown cars were in action and this was no slouch field.

In the coming weeks, Team Florida’s junior member Collin Cabre will be heading up to New Paris Speedway in the Tom Brewer entry for some HOSS competition.
