Quick update on Saturday night’s sprint car races and other stuff…
ByOver at East Bay, the cast of regular rowdies resurfaced for a night of racing and it was almost a 100% FSCF.com reunion as our Editor at Speed “The Hot Foot” Brian Penrose and Josh “I’m Still on Probation” Wichers showed up to work on our Factory Driver Ryan Partin’s car as he tested some new stuff out before heading back out on the Top Gun Sprint Series trail. Ye Olde Webmaster’s run of bad luck continued (wife wrecked her car) and had to sit this one out.
But nonetheless, a fine field of cars showed up and when it was all said and done Kurt Taylor took home the win, followed by Danny Jones, Tim George, Keith “I’m No One’s” Butler and Rocky Sullivan.
We’ll hopefully have a race report from one of our staff, and Gary “Walk Quietly But Carry A Big” Johnson sent along some photos we’re saving for the moment.
Up at the OSCA/FSCA race once again it was Titanium Tommy Denton taking home the win in Georgia, followed across the stripe by Shawn Murray and Mark “Ruelz Bitches!” Ruel, Jr. The OSCA/FSCA traveling circus heads on over to Alabama tonight.
Down at Punta Gorda Speedway, the FMARA once again had a double digit turnout as Ted Durfee once again took home the checkers. Ted was followed across the stripe by Mike Belusar and Geoff Styner. Former two-time series Champion Ernie Teed Jr. made his first appearance of the year replacing the injured Jack Duffy in the #1, but mechanical problems made his night a short one.
And now, we would like to present the newly married TBARA driver Larry Brazil, Jr. who married his lovely bride Jackie down in the Florida Keys this weekend. Our staff wishes to congratulate the happy couple and wishes them nothing but the best of luck and good fortune in the years to come.
Now, when you’re friends with Hustlin’ Steve Heisler, like Larry is, things like this tend to happen…
If you ever wondered to yourself, “I’ve seen Larry Brazil Jr. stand in victory lane a few times, but I wonder what he looks like hungover in the Florida Keys,” you can wonder no more. And in our defense, Hustlin’ Steve Heisler is completely to blame for this as he insisted we post this photo of the groom.
And for you Amanda Ferguson fans, she was credited with a 31st place finish at the Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway. Jeff Choquette was the winner, followed by Wayne Anderson.
