FloriBama’s Loss is Citrus County’s Gain.
By FSCF WebmasterStraight from the Weather Channel, you now see why the TBARA FloriBama tour has been postponed until October 15 and 16. Seeing how most of the teams were there or damn close to being there, and the tracks pulled the plug, that reallllllllly sucks.
But business is certainly going to pick up at Citrus County Saturday night for the CFSS show. Confirmed already is Shane Butler in the #8 and Travelin’ Troy DeCaire in the #41. The state’s hottest driver “The Smooth Operator” Mickey Kempgens is currently working the phones for a ride as is Hustlin’ Steve Heisler.
So…you will be at Citrus County Saturday night. Citrus County and wingless sprints go together like peanut butter and chocolate, it’s damn tasty.
In addition you should expect the regular cast of characters like The Brothers Gimmler, Keith “Forget Shane, I’m the Butler to Cheer for Tonight” Butler, teenage female sensation Amanda Ferguson, teenage male sensation Channing Conley, Jimmy Alvis Jr., Frankie Hurst, David “Nothing Rhymes With” Slawiak, Slick Ric Voisey, Robby “Slice It, Don’t” Hackett, Skeeter Faulconer, one, if not two, Riddle family and out of state invader Matthew Hall, and undoubtedly more.
And on top of that, the CFSS announced earlier this week a purse increase, courtesy of Rick Gabor of Eagle Jet International. This means the entire field will receive an additional $50.00 per position to start the feature race and the feature race will pay $1050.00 to win and $300.00 to start.
If everyone shows that is expected, this could shape up to be one of the best races of the year. God bless you Citrus County Speedway, we love you so.
As always, when we know “Slick” Ric Voisey is going to be racing, we post a video as a public service announcement that his interviews should be conducted like this…

Would like to thank Tim Bryant and all of the staff at 5 Flags and Mobile. We know that they tried to get the show in at one point this weekend, however, the weather was not going clear before the end of the weekend. We appriciate that BOTH tracks were able to accomidate a reschedule date in October (the 15th and 16th).
Can wait to see them in October!
