Welcome to a new feature on FloridaSprintCarFans.com – 10 Questions! 10 Questions is nothing more than our attempt to get to know our favorite sprint car drivers better. Some questions are serious racing questions, some questions not so much. Just trying to get to know our heroes a little bit better.

So right out of the gate, who do we start with  but none other than Troy DeCaire! You know him, you love him, you appreciate him taking the fight to Dave Steele, you deeply respect his back-to-back TBARA championships. In short, he’s the man. And we are also forever in debt to Troy for being our first driver bold enough to take up this challenge.

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you – 10 Questions with Troy DeCaire!

Who got you involved in sprint cars? –  I would have to say my childhood hero Sam Rodriguez . I grew up watching him on the dirt around florida and since I could remember I wanted to drive a sprint car just like him.

What is your favorite track to race at and why? –  Lanier Speedway in Georgia….. I have only had the pleasure of racing there one time but its a smooth, racey place that I cant wait to get a chance at again.

Which is your favorite – wings or wingless? –  Which ever one is racing next.

Which track has the best food? –   Any track my mother makes it to! I try to stay away from track food.

Who is your toughest competitor? —    Dave Steele…. I get the chance to line up next to him about every week and I’d have to say he’s a big reason on why I strive to get better every time I hit the track.

What are the main differences you see being out in the Midwest? – Same cars, same objective, just a different area code.

Have you ever seen snow? –  Twice - Two too many times.

What restaurant has the best buffalo wings? –   Wing House in Tampa, Florida.

What is your favorite kind of orange juice? – Tropicana.

What’s next for you – USAC, ARCA, Firestone Indy Lights? –  Whoever calls first.
